夫はときどき、同僚や上司をうちに招待する。でもわたしはそういうことを彼にしてほしくない。おもてなしをするのにストレスを感じるから。

I agree with Dave. Maybe it is a little hard for you to ask him directly, but I think you should try it. It will turn out why he doesn’t want to look at you while talking with you. If he is uncomfortable with you, why don’t you try discussing it with your boss? I also think it is very important for your project team to communicate well. Please be more courageous!
