1)　　I bought a new cell phone but I couldn’t figure out how to use it. So I asked the person in charge of the store, but instead of telling me, she was cold to me.

2)　　My son often starts crying loudly in public. I’m concerned about people looking at me when I can’t calm him down, so I prefer to stay home instead of going out with him.

前半部分を過去の言い方でまとめてくださっているのですが、
「息子はいつも～する」と考えるなら、
My often begins to cry ~
Even if I tell him to calm down, he sometimes keeps crying.
のようにしてもよいと思います＾＾

この部分も、how people around me are feeling~のようにして良いかと思いますよ。
